By this point I was about to give up, but I'm really glad that I didn't. I had read some good information and learned quite a few things, but I was still feeling like I needed some more details instructions. The Earth4Energy guide provided this and a lot more.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;width: 161px; height: 200px;" src="http://www.earth4energy.com/affiliates/bannersandgraphics/earth4box2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459334531386648802" />The price for Earth4Energy was $49.97. The same price as the last guide I tried, but much better in many ways. I was also able to download the guide and the videos right after paying for it, which I had come to expect by this point.

This guide came with a ton of bonuses including: Intro to Solar Energy, Building Your Solar Panel, Solar Help Package (solar calculate, how to install, solar tax credits and rebates, wiring plans etc), Complete Video Series, Make a Wind Turbine, and a 2 Hour Solar Info Video Series. There was a ton of material!

After reading through the guides and watching the videos, I can easily say that this guide was the easiest to understand, got straight to the meat with step by step instructions and resulted in an awesome finished project.

My Verdict:

Price - 5/5 Stars
Quality - 5/5 Stars
Effectiveness - 5/5 Stars
Ease of Use - 4/5
Support - 4/5

I've had my solar panel now for 3 months and we've already saved hundreds of dollars in energy bills and tax credits. If you are looking to build a solar panel and do it right the first time, I HIGHLY suggest you get started with the Earth4Energy guide today.

Green DIY Energy - Review

This was the second solar panel guide that I tried.

Green DIY Energy seemed to offer a lot more then the 1st guide I tried. They offered a bonus set of videos that walk you through step by step. It had over 60 minutes of video and a guide to building a wind turbine.

The price was a bit more expensive then the last guide, coming in at $49.97. This was not too much more and I felt like I received more material, so it was okay.

I was able to download the material again right after paying for it. This was a plus again as I was ready to get my solar panel built.

Even with all of the extra material, I still felt a bit out of my league. I felt that they could have done a better job at presenting the material for a person new to building a solar panel. There was still a lot of good information here, but I still felt like I was missing some important information.

The post sales support was also pretty bad. I had sent in some questions to their support and did not receive a response for over a week. That's pretty unacceptable in my book.

My Verdict:

Price - 4/5 Stars
Quality - 4/5 Stars
Effectiveness - 4/5 Stars
Ease of Use - 4/5
Support - 2/5

Check out Green DIY Energy HERE.

Jesee.

Home Made Energy - Review

This was the first "make a solar panel at home" guide that I purchased. This is a review of the product from my experience.

This guide claimed to get you setup to be 100% powered on renewable energy with solar panels. It sounded pretty good, so I purchased it and took a look.

They offer instant download of the guide and material right after payment, so that was a plus for me as I was excited to get started. They charged $47 for the guide.

Once I started reading the material I noticed that a lot of it was very general. They were really not specific enough for my needs. Maybe someone that has already built a solar panel would have been able to use this as reference, but that's not me.
http://www.blogger.com/
They used a lot of fluff and not a lot of step by step instructions. It seemed they were more interesting in reading me facts then the information I needed.

When I was done with this guide, I felt like I still needed more step by step instructions to build my first solar panel successfully.

My Verdict:

Price - 3/5 Stars
Quality - 3/5 Stars
Effectiveness - 3/5 Stars
Ease of Use - 3/5
Support - 4/5

Check out Home Made Energy HERE.

Jesse.

Welcome to My Blog

Hello,

My name is Jesse. I'm a 38 year old delivery driver from Los Angeles.

From as far back as I remember, I loved to tinker with things. I enjoyed taking apart my alarm clock and inspecting all of the mysteriousness parts inside. I even took apart the TV once, but I got in big trouble when it wouldn't turn back on!

As life went on, I found myself having to work to pay my way through school and that didnt leave much time for my hobbies. I have not been able to continue with my past time of taking stuff apart and putting it back together again. Until now. I've finally got some time in between working and taking care of the kids to have some fun.

I've decided to start this blog so I can talk about my projects and give step by step instructions for those that wish to follow. One thing that I have taken a great interest in is building solar panels. There are so many benefits for this that its hard to list them all. But mainly it saves my family money, it's good for the environment and it's a very fun project.

I didn't know what the heck I was doing when I started my first solar panel, so I got to hunting around for a guide. Most of the stuff I found online was incomplete or far too technical and complicated. I bought a few guides that promised to walk me through the process and I found one that was really good. I'll also be reviewing that guide so that you solar panel enthusiasts can check it out. I'll also review some of the other guides, so you don't waste your time on inferior material.

I'm going to rate these programs using the following criteria:

Price
Quality
Effectiveness
Ease of Use
Support

That's it for now.
